Tata Indica Dicor - Irrelevant Service Charges and Dealer Attitude
Posted on 09-08-2018 by
I, Sharmila Nakhat living in Kishangarh,Rajasthan had purchased a Tata Indica Dicor DLG version Reg. No. RJ01 CA 6098 in June 2008. While delivering the car, the dealer, Mudgal Motors,Ajmer had not given me service coupons. The salesman told me that i will be provided with the service coupons within three days. I agreed to it and took the delivery of the vehicle. When the first service interval of the car was approaching, I contacted the salesman and enquired about the service coupons. He told me that he is really sorry for the delay and I will be provided with the service coupons very soon. Even after this I was not given service coupons. When the first service was due, I took the car to the service centre of Mudgal Motors,Ajmer. Upon enquiry, they
told me that there is a waiting period of three days and my car will only be taken after that. He even told me that as I did not have the service coupons, I will be charged for the service. After three days I called up the service center and enquired about the status of the work in the service center. I got the reply that the service center is full and they will not be taking up vehicles for two days. I was really frustrated and I gave my car for service in a nearby service center in Kishangarh. Whenever a service interval arrived, I gave my car to the same service center. I always ensured that proper service is done and no poor quality parts or oils are used. To my surprise after the free service period was complete, Mudgal Motors had provided me with the service coupons.I was really fed up by their attitude. In the first week of January 2010, I faced a problem with the power window (Co-driver side). I immediately called up Mudgal Motors and asked about it. They told me that power window for Indica DICOR is not in stock and I will be informed whenever they get one. I thought that whenever the power window arrives, the service executive will call me back. But no-one ever called. In April, I again faced problems with the power window (Driver side). I approached Mudgal Motors immediately and sent my car to their workshop. Again they sent the car back to me saying that power windows are not in stock. I was really fed up with their service. They neither had taken up the car for a single service nor do they provide the right answers. Recently in the third week of June, suddenly there were some abnormal noises in the car. I sent the car again to the Mudgal Motors service station. They told me that the cars gearbox will be overhauled and the problem will be solved after replacing the faulty parts. They also informed me that it was due to the wear and tear of the clutch bearing. They told me that the car will be delivered in four working days. I agreed to it and gave my car on 19/06/2010. After two days, their service executive called me up and informed me that the noise wasn't due to the clutch bearing but it was because of the suspension bushes and that they have changed all the rubber bushings. The service executive also told me that the current cost of the service was Rs.3970 and the power window motors were faulty and they will also have to be replaced. I thought that as I had taken the Extended Warranty they will be replaced under warranty. But the sales executive informed me that since I had not given my car for service in Mudgal Motors my car is not eligible for warranty and i have to pay Rs.7500+ Rs.1500 (Labour Charges) approximately for the 2 power windows. I was really shocked and felt cheated. I am a widow and work to raise my family and my budget does not allow me to spend Rs.9000 on my car as I also pay for the finance installment of Rs.9675. I told the service executive to leave the power windows and prepare the car for delivery. He told me that the car will be ready after two days. I agreed to it. After two days, when I went to take my car back, I told the service executive that my son will take a test drive of the vehicle. He got the car for the testdrive in pathetic condition. The car was not washed and all the interior was dirty like a dust bin. There was mud in the complete car with tobacco packets lying around in the car. After seeing this, i went to the owner of Mudgal Motors and reported the complete scenario. He told me that the car has not been washed since a charge of Rs.250 was not informed to me. I told the executive to get the car washed. Again, when I went to take my car on 30/06/2010, I found the car in a still worse condition with all bird droppings on the car. Even the interior was in the same condition. The service executive told me to take the car the next day. Already, my car had been lying in the service center for 10 days. When they had not worked for 10 days what will they work in one day. So, I took the delivery of the vehicle in the same pathetic condition. I paid Rs.3970 and took my car. After going for 2 kms I found that the noise for which i had given the car was not even rectified. I took the car to the service station again. The service executive told me that the problem was due to a faulty axle which costed around Rs.3500+Rs.450 (Labour Charge). I was really fed up of the service center and I thought that I have commited a big mistake by buying a Tata Car which has such irresponsible service centres. The service centre had altready charged me Rs.300 for Clutch Overhaul, Rs.400 for front suspension dismantle, Rs.400 for various kinds of rubber bushes. I am really fed up with Mudgal Motors, Ajmer. There are numerous customers like me who have to go through such bad experiences beacause of Mudgal Motors, Ajmer. The Dealership is the only Tata Car showroom in Ajmer and Kishangarh and so the dealership works as it likes. This is my worst experience after buying my first Tata Car. I will never ever recommend a Tata Car with such a PATHETIC SERVICE NETWORK.
